Club 33 | Committees

Doing the work of Rotary begins in your committees

Furthering the work of Rotary in your community, your region or internationally happens in our committees. You have an enormous opportunity as a volunteer in Club 33 to become involved and active. It’s personally rewarding and great fun!

We have many levels of time commitments as well as different kinds of service to the club and community. We encourage you to join at least 2 committees and see what works best for you. Committee work is where you really get to know fellow Rotarians and share the fellowship that ties us all together.

With the information on our many committees in Club 33 shown at the right, you will be able to review each synopsis and see which ones are a fit for your personal interests. To become part of a committee, simply contact the chair via the email link to answer any questions you may have. Being part of a committee is the best way to get to know members, enjoy personal rewards and contribute to the success of Rotary.

Latest News: Our Club 4 Way Speech contest will be held Feb. 2007 at Brigantine restaurant in La Mesa 6:00 PM - specific date TBA

Current Goals: To introduce students to the value of business ethics as prescribed by the Rotary 4 Way Test and to provide Club Members with the opportunity to provide a public service to the youth community.

Purpose: To better acquaint high school students, their faculty, families and friends to the code Rotarians try to live by — the 4-Way Test.

Activities/responsibilities: Students select a topic of their choosing and present a speech that follows strict rules set up by Rotary as to delivery and timing. The speech must include all four parts of the Rotary 4-Way Test.

Why join: To participate as judges, timekeepers and hosts at our "club level" competition. Our winning student is eligible to compete at the next level, "sub-regional," and if they win again, at the "regionals". If our student speaker makes it through the regionals, they can compete at the "district finals," winning prize money at each level. New members can also attend the next level of competition to support our speaker as they compete outside our own "club level" contest. We invite any interested new member to contact the chairperson to see what role they can serve in our upcoming competition.
