Club 33 | Committees

Doing the work of Rotary begins in your committees

Furthering the work of Rotary in your community, your region or internationally happens in our committees. You have an enormous opportunity as a volunteer in Club 33 to become involved and active. It’s personally rewarding and great fun!

We have many levels of time commitments as well as different kinds of service to the club and community. We encourage you to join at least 2 committees and see what works best for you. Committee work is where you really get to know fellow Rotarians and share the fellowship that ties us all together.

With the information on our many committees in Club 33 shown at the right, you will be able to review each synopsis and see which ones are a fit for your personal interests. To become part of a committee, simply contact the chair via the email link to answer any questions you may have. Being part of a committee is the best way to get to know members, enjoy personal rewards and contribute to the success of Rotary.

Latest News: The 2012 Steering Committee's kick-off meeting was September 14th, 2011. Camp will be March 15-17, 2012 at Camp Cedar Glen in Julian. Click here for additional information on Camp Enterprise.

Current Goals: To further the Club's vocational mission, through educating approximately 80 high school students regarding free enterprise and the benefits of being an entrepreneur.

Purpose: To plan and conduct Camp Enterprise for approximately 80 juniors from over 40 high schools from around the county. The students are encouraged to be creative thinkers, good team members and ethical in everything they do. They learn all aspects of business - mission, management, marketing and money.

Activities/responsibilities: Camp Enterprise is a large event, requiring the participation of approximately 45 Committee members, both Rotarians and Rotaracts. Some of these volunteers have participated for many years, some are rookies. The Steering Committee meets monthly from September through March and provides the detailed planning, coordination, and oversight for the 3-day Camp. The remaining Committee Members serve in various functions. Prior to Camp, they act as schools coordinators, sponsor support, and host/hostess for students at the Camp Enterprise luncheon. During Camp, Members can participate as student facilitators or with the support crew.

Why join: If you want to make a positive impact on the development of youth, then the Camp Enterprise Committee is for you. The changes these students undergo in three short days is remarkable to observe. To previous Committee Members: Welcome Back! For new Members, be patient, but persistent, as some positions are limited. However, initially become involved in anyway you can, as each of you are future Steering Committee Members.
If you have an interest in assisting with Camp Enterprise, contact the chair or vice chair who will advise you on what areas are needed for participation.
